2.       BASIS FOR THE DOCUMENT

We recognise that in striving to become a prominent and responsible company, we must not only meet the current and future needs of our Clients, but also make a positive contribution to the community. Accordingly, Skłodowscy Tax Consulting Company has adopted a Corporate Social Responsibility Policy and has put in place related systems to ensure that the interests of all external and internal stakeholders are proactively identified, understood, and properly addressed.
Social involvement is one of the most important areas for the Skłodowscy Group. We understand the impact of our company on our environment and the opportunities to engage with the communities in which we operate, and we are ready to make a positive contribution.

3.       MISSION OF THE COMPANY

Our strategy is based on 3 main pillars:
  • We aim to apply sustainable solutions, set trends and be a leader in the accounting sector
  • We want our brand to be perceived by employees, clients and consumers as socially committed
  • We want to act in an environmentally friendly way in every aspect of our business
Community engagement is a key element of our business, as it depends heavily on stakeholder relations. The issue of social responsibility is of utmost importance to us, and we are pursuing it by providing economic development opportunities and by investing and participating in relevant actions to benefit the community. We are thus committed to developing long-term relationships with the communities and stakeholders of our organisation.

4.       POLICY OBJECTIVES

The implementation of this policy aims to support the development of the company and the local community, taking into account social interests, environmental aspects and relations with different stakeholder groups.

5.       STAKEHOLDERS

A number of stakeholder groups were identified during the design of this policy:
1.     employees,
2.    service recipients,
3.    local entrepreneurs,
4.    local NGOs,
5.    residents of the area, in particular: schoolchildren and students.

6.       RELATIONS WITH BUSINESS PARTNERS

Our determination to produce work of the highest quality and our integrity in relation to legal and tax requirements are the foundation on which we build the trust of our partners. Our sustainable approach to the development of the Company is a guarantee of long-term success resulting from the trust of our clients. All employees of the Skłodowscy Group are obliged to comply with the law and business ethics in their business relations. Where these are not complied with, the Company’s Management Board is obliged to take appropriate measures in this respect. We comply with applicable fair competition laws. We do not offer or accept any undue advantage from either individuals or businesses. In order to avoid conflicts of interest, employees are obliged to notify the Management Board immediately of any property and personal relationships with cooperating and competing entities. We guarantee equal treatment of business partners. The criteria for selecting suppliers and subcontractors are objective, impartial, and unambiguous. We expect our suppliers to be reliable and to provide the highest quality products and services we order. We also pay attention to our subcontractors’ compliance with health and safety rules, and to issues of respect for the environment and its resources

7.       POLICY DIRECTIONS

Analysing the needs of the local environment and comparing them to the entity’s capabilities makes it necessary to prioritise the following areas of social activity:
1.      employee programmes (including labour law and organisational governance practices),
2.     ecology,
3.     programmes for apprentices and trainees,
4.     social campaigns,
5.     local community development.

8.       SPECIFIC SOLUTIONS

Having identified the priority areas of CSR and its stakeholders, we have selected the following types of action to achieve this policy objective.

EMPLOYEES
All employees of Skłodowscy Tax Consulting Company are guided by the values that form the moral basis of our company. Additionally, it is particularly important to us as a company that there is an atmosphere of partnership and friendliness within the company and that people trust each other. We make every effort to ensure that this is the case. Our employees show extraordinary commitment, solidarity, reliability, and an innovative approach to problems in their activities.
As regards employees, continuous improvement of employees’ qualifications (irrespective of their form of employment) by encouraging participation in courses, training, workshops, etc., is a priority. It is also advisable to subsidise (from own or external funds) and organise training activities on our own. An important element of team building in line with CSR principles is also the strengthening of relations between employees and management through participation in joint employee trips, particularly of a team-building nature.
With the introduction of Corporate Social Responsibility principles, we hope to gain added value for our business partners, who will be able to demonstrate that they are working with a responsible and modern company, as well as for our potential and already employed staff, for whom we will become a desirable employer. The trust placed in us by all parties involved in carrying out our activities is a great success for us.
Compliance with the law, as well as with internally adopted rules of procedure and business ethics, is a priority for everyone in our company. Any information we provide is always complete, impartial, objective, understandable and factually correct.

ECOLOGY
We saw the need to reduce the use of office supplies as one of the environmental measures, by promoting work on electronic documents and the use of recycled paper. The latter is done by purchasing so-called "recycled paper” for use in the office or by using no longer needed single-sided printed documents.
Another measure is the Client Portal that we offer our clients. It facilitates the management of the company, and its functionalities provide assurance of proper supervision and management. A software that completely eliminates hard copy workflows and introduces the client to smart accounting.
We invest in photovoltaic solutions that power our buildings by converting solar energy into electricity. Our company has also purchased its first zero-emission electric car, which employees use to move between branches and commute to clients. When planning long-distance trips, we follow a policy of reducing the number of kilometres travelled by dividing the area of operation into regions. Each trip should allow as many cases as possible to be dealt with in the area.

TRAINEES AND APPRENTICES
We organise internships and apprenticeships for school and university students. By doing so, we are enabling students to gain work experience while they are still in school. No work experience requirement applies to employment at the Company, making it possible to take up your first job in our ranks. Just as with employees, we promote further training for trainees and apprentices in internal and external forms.

SOCIAL CAMPAIGNS
As part of our online presence (through our website and social media), we have been sharing our knowledge for years. Weekly LIVE broadcasts for people following our social media gather hundreds of participants in front of their computers looking for legal and tax support. Participation in our training courses is free of charge. For 30 years, we have been supporting local entrepreneurs by working pro bono and organising conferences and training on legal, tax and labour law changes. Sharing knowledge is part of our DNA.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Our Corporate Social Responsibility activities started many years ago, shortly after the Company was founded.
We actively support NGOs, associations and foundations that implement social initiatives to support and promote sports activities and the development of passions among young people. We appreciate and support Polish culture, science, and sport. Every year, our employees eagerly get involved in various campaigns to support people in need, e.g.: campaigns to prepare gift bags with food and basic necessities for children and senior citizens during the festive season.
We feel a sense of responsibility for other members of the community in which we operate, so we engage in dialogue with them and support them in various fields of activity. As part of "neighbourly support,” we source materials and services from local entrepreneurs, supporting business development. We favour the execution of all maintenance work on the Company’s buildings by local specialists.

9.       FINAL REMARKS

The issues addressed in this CSR Policy are matters of the utmost importance to our Company, our shareholders, and our business partners. Compliance with this Policy is key to conducting business in line with established values and ethical standards. In providing a suitable working environment and conditions, we expect all our Employees to adhere to the above principles in the performance of their duties, so that their attitude and behaviour is professional, ethical, and moral.
